Earth Resistivity Meter – Powerful, Portable, Accurate

Hermosa Beach, CA - E&S Grounding Solutions (E&S) offers superior earth resistivity and induced polarization testing, having recently upgraded to the MiniSting Automatic Earth Resistivity and IP System from AGI headquartered in Austin, Texas.

The MiniSting (formerly known as the Sting R1) provides an 800 Volt peak-to-peak direct current signal, requiring an external marine battery as an added power supply.  According to Michael Esparza, President of E&S Grounding Solutions, “There has been a big demand by our customers for ultra deep soil resistivity soundings at high technology data centers around the US.  This new portable meter provides both the power and accuracy that our clients depend on.”

The MiniSting is capable of taking 1D, 2D, & 3D soundings in excess of 1000-ft deep, and can measure even the toughest of soil conditions, as it is a true geological survey instrument of world-class caliber.  Additionally, E&S now has over two (2) miles of wire and cabling on the shelves, which enables them to respond quickly to their customers needs to collect accurate earth resistivity readings for both shallow and ultra-deep soundings.

The MiniSting is one of only two approved meters for use with the CDEGS software package, according to the manufacturer, Safe Engineering Services & technologies ltd. in Montreal, Canada.  CDEGS is the most powerful engineering software package ever developed for electrical engineers in the power quality field, and has become the most widely accepted substation safety engineering software in the world.

The earth resistivity meter, cabling, and support equipment, are all encased in padded travel containers designed for the rugged travel through airports, ensuring that the equipment arrives in good condition to the job site, no matter the locale.  “Too many times, technicians have arrived at job sites with meters that were damaged in transit.  We use military grade padded travel cases to protect our equipment and our customers from unanticipated delays”, said Esparza.
